The single most important position in health policy goes to… Dr Oz.

The share of people who are uninsured stayed at a historically low rate in the second quarter of 2024, according to new government data. That won't be true for long if Republicans follow through on plans to cut the ACA and Medicaid. cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhis…

Enhanced ACA subsidies are set to expire in late 2025. Who would be most impacted by the expiration? People living in Southern red states, where: ☑️ACA signups have grown the most since 2020 ☑️ACA signups represent largest share of the population ☑️Premium payments would double

This will have a chilling effect on undocumented immigrants, and immigrants generally, discouraging them from seeking care for urgent health needs. Of course, that's a feature, not a bug, of this policy.

Trump will begin operations to deport millions of undocumented immigrants when he starts his term, campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Wednesday morning. He'll launch the "largest mass deportation operation" of undocumented immigrants on Day 1. trib.al/EiapTH0

This is what Trump said about the Affordable Care Act in November 2023.

Trump quickly responds to Harris, saying he "never even thought about" ending the ACA. (As president, Trump fought to repeal ACA via legislation, undo regulations via executive action and nuke it via SCOTUS. Last month he called ACA "lousy" and said "we're going to replace it.")

CNN panel on @andersoncooper is talking about how the ACA premiums “keep going up and up” This isn’t true Unsubsidized premiums have been remarkably steady since 2018. And people are paying less and less with enhanced subsidies.

Public mistrust of this one specific drug is interesting, considering that GLP-1 receptor agonists have been on the market in the U.S. since 2005.
