Today is World Diabetes Day. There are good days and there are bad days, but no matter how hard it gets you are more than your condition and it doesn’t define you. #WorldDiabetesDay2024 #WorldDiabetesDay #Diabetes

#FMQs: Today is #WorldDiabetesDay. Diabetes tech can transform lives, but Scotland’s waiting lists are extremely long. England & Wales have 5-year plans; where’s Scotland’s? #DiabetesTechCantWait #FairAndEqualAccess @DiabetesUK @DiabetesScot @BreakthroughT1D

#T1D isn’t a battle to win or lose – it’s a part of us, a lifelong companion that shapes who we are. When we call ourselves ‘fighters,’ we cast it as an enemy. On #WDD and beyond, let’s embrace resilience, not resistance – until the day a cure finds us. 💙 #LanguageMatters

Also huge progress in Scotland with over 60% of children using hybrid closed loop systems - aiming to see around 80% by Spring. Still lots of work to do!

In 2024? In Children living with #T1Diabetes in @NHSEngland? There are more people on #InsulinPumps than those on #Injections It is now-officially-STANDARD care for #T1Diabetes It is no longer 'Daily Multiple Injections of Insulin' How about that for a shift of paradigm 😎

D-Coded was born out of a yearning from the #T1D community to understand complicated #research that was being published about their condition The website now has over 15 articles made simple and easy for the community to use By PwD, verified by experts dcodeddiabetes.com

Forever grateful for the path Rosamund paved towards patient led research. Great to see this piece resurfacing!

📣 If you have ever used, or plan to use, the NHS please share your experience and ideas on how to fix the service. This is a real opportunity for patients and the public to (hopefully!) have their voices heard and expert knowledge become part of the solutions.

Powerful stories like Jim’s are ones that might not automatically arrive on my desk, but demonstrate why change is desperately needed. Share your views and experiences at Change.NHS.uk.

A fascinating piece of work on #LanguageMatters #Diabetes - but with a focus on women - and some of the unique challenges - ignored by many due to bias- ‘unconscious’ or otherwise Worth a read and a good addition to the series 💙 HCPs - one to read 👇🏽 languagemattersdiabetes.com/_files/ugd/09b…

Why does diabetes tech and airports seem to still be such a stressful combination? @STN_Airport staff requests this time? To take my pump/CGM off. X-ray scanners are fine Then, a full search in a private room. Luckily the manager was lovely and keeps asking for change

Could you help a team of researchers who are developing a new questionnaire to support parents of children being screened for Type 1 Diabetes? We are looking for parents of a child with T1D and parents who have considered screening.   We know the decision to have a child…
