Hi, I would like to start to get in touch with disability orgs about how you're preparing for a potential dismantling of the Department of Education. We can talk in December after you've thought it over some more, but please get in touch at jmetraux@motherjones.com

I know it sucks to admit you were wrong when you stopped masking. It sucks to acknowledge that you’ve harmed people by spreading disease. It sucks to accept that COVID is dangerous. But you can decide RIGHT NOW to wear a high-quality mask in public spaces again. I believe in you!

A colleague (nurse practitioner) got on a flight on Friday with COVID symptoms (but certain it's not COVID) and spent the whole weekend socialising at a wedding and guess what folks ... It was COVID.

i don’t understand why we are treated like conspiracy theorists. 😫 long covid isn’t a thought exercise. i’m 39 and go to a cardiologist now and have to take 2 dozen pills a day or i die. it really happened to me and i’m yelling about it bc it could really happen to you. 😷

Most ppl get so mad & irritated with me whenever I bring up how scared I am of Covid after it disabled me & almost killed me… 😵‍💫 Why? Why do ppl react like this?

My kids often come into the kitchen & find me lying on the floor while I’m trying to cook dinner. I can’t stand long enough to finish anything so I have to just lie on the floor for a few minutes before I can do another few minutes. This is the reality of LC no-one wants to see!

#LongCovidLooksLike lying down in your kitchen so you don’t miss your shopping delivery, & you’ll have enough energy to put it away when it comes. To all you able-bodied people out there: don’t gamble with your health. Avoid catching Covid as much as you can. #CleanAir #MaskUp

A disabled person’s worth is more than what they are able to contribute to society. Our worth is more than our productivity. We still deserve to LIVE. Not just survive. We are people. We are human beings that deserve to enjoy things.

It depends on if the disabled person manages to contribute more to society than they cost.

When dairy cows in Texas began falling ill with H5N1, alarmed veterinarians expected a fierce response to contain an outbreak with pandemic-sparking potential. Then politics—and, critics say, a key agency’s mandate to protect dairy-industry revenues—intervened. For VF,…

Universal masking and social distancing at the start of the pandemic were so effective that they eliminated a strain of flu, and now annual flu vaccines have been redesigned because that strain no longer needs to be included in the shot. Amazing.

Greta stopped being a media darling when she started connecting climate to capitalism. Now that she connects climate to colonialism and genocide, she has fallen outside the acceptable bounds of corporate media altogether.

Greta is protesting for Palestine, again. “The German state is complicit in this genocide.”
