What’s noteworthy here is how the BPD attribute the mass arrests to the “camping ban” that the Wu administration introduced last year and the city council voted for. It was a bad policy when wielded against unhoused people and it’s now being wielded against student demonstrators.

As we see police violently dismantle student encampments and make arrests, I want to remind people that this is what regularly happens to unhoused people. There is often 0 media attention for that. It is horrific and traumatic always- reject it all. Demand a better world.
