Life is full of suffering, and every day is a miracle, and both are always true. Man, it’s hard to remember that last part.

My office mate! Five years ago it never ocurred to me that I might spend my workdays with a 90-pound dog by my side. Today I can’t imagine it any other way. Love you, Buster :-)

This was a fun post to write on an important theme in my practice, so I'm glad to see it getting a boost from @SmartBrief's newsletter. Many thanks!

There are many reasons to acknowledge veterans' contributions today, but here's mine: When I taught @StanfordGSB, I was always delighted to have a veteran in my class. They were some of the best-prepared, most diligent students, and they made the experience better for all of us.

Practicing what I preach: Making the (amazing) gruyere puffs featured in my last newsletter. You cannot go wrong with this recipe. Champagne isn't necessary, but it is recommended. us6.campaign-archive.com/?u=ac408579b25…

On November 1, 2010, everything changed for the Giants and their fans. Where were you when the Giants won their first World Series in 56 years in Texas?

OUT NOW: The 51st issue of my monthly newsletter, with... • A personal essay (on work) • A post from my archives • Recommended reading from Jim Harrison • A short video of the natural world • Miscellany: A recipe! us6.campaign-archive.com/?u=ac408579b25…
