I'm presenting at #AJEC2024 this week - my first research presentation in a very long time. There's still time to register for the symposium here: bit.ly/42fAQCl #AJEC2024

Highlight of my working week was meeting, hugging and hearing from @EmmaWatkinsfilm at Parliament House for #EarlyLearningMattersWeek

“We want the best country to raise a child and the best place to be a child”: Emma Memma (@EmmaWatkinsfilm), currently on a twirly tour, and champion for the importance of song, dance and play in #ECEC. We couldn’t agree more! #earlylearningmatters

It's both OOSH educators day and #earlylearningmatters Week @EarlyChildAust - so I made this heart for my love of play and of awesome educators

Call for research participants! Early childhood educators are needed for a PhD study on the links between educator well-being and educator-infant interactions. For more information please see the attached flyer.

Fabulous keynote by @drkellyallen on belonging @beyou_edu_au Virtual Conference. A reminder that infants experience belonging (or not) too.

Super looking forward to @drrebeccaray on Thursday @beyou_edu_au Virtual Conference, having being drawn to her boundaries book, glowing in pink and orange, on the bookstore shelf a few years back.

Too often, early childhood is only talked about in terms of later outcomes, as if securing the health and happiness of babies & young children has no inherent value. I’m pleased the @PEDALCam & @UNICEF_uk framework captures the value of both “being” & “becoming” mentally healthy

The first few days, weeks and months at a new school or early learning service are pivotal in setting the scene for long-term belonging and connection. How are relationships going at your place? Here is my keynote from our Virtual Conference last year #transitions

Transitions are great opportunities to build and maintain relationships. See how protective relationships for children can buffer against the risks, stresses, and challenges of transitions including, transitions in the context of disaster recovery. bit.ly/beyou_transiti…

"Giving yourself permission to attend to your needs also sets the example for those who rely on you for your support to do the same." Great article from @MHFA_Australia on Self-Care when Helping Others community.mhfa.com.au/self-care-when…

Thank you Ma’am, for everything.

Yesterday @kurtfearnley spoke at #BeYouVirtual conference about educators who were part of his village who built his resilience. Decades on, those memories show the powerful impact of educators on children's mental health years into the future.

It was a pleasure to address educators at the #BeYouVirtual Conference today. Good education and strong mental health go hand in hand, helping to build resilience. Reforming our mental health and education systems is a critical part of our post-COVID social and economic recovery.

Two of my favourite quotes from #BeYouVirtual conference today - @JuliaGillard "Change doesn't happen from being timid" and David Wild's "sometimes empowerment looks like being vulnerable" - a conference thread about challenging ourselves to empower others.

Our free #BeYouVirtual conference has just begun! I'm up tomorrow at 2pm. Register and check out the full program here: bit.ly/3yDxegJ #Transitions
