I AM .... Two of the most powerful words; for what you put after those two words shapes your reality.

Parents, coaches, & trainers of elite adolescent athletes; please find a way to read the journal article by Silvia Di Luzio and colleagues titled: Exploring the role of sport sense of community and perceived athletic burn out, sport motivation, and engagement. Published by AASP

So fun to watch Nashville Soccer Club this season.. Fantastic and perfectly focused goalkeeping by Willis. Smart defense. Challenging for every 50/50 ball. So fun to watch! Aggressive and well timed attacks. #NSC #EveryoneN

Sports psychology for the high school athlete or performer (philosophy s... youtu.be/09wF-BtUGfA via @YouTube

In sports, the visualization of perfect technique has been shown in research to improve performance. Try it this way: close your eyes, utilize all your senses (what you see-feel-perceive-hear-smell-even taste). Take the PERFECT MENTAL REP in slow-mo, then increase speed.

High School Athletes-looking to break into the starting line up? Work you butt off in practice but don’t forget the mental side of the game! Every night while alone close your eyes-Pick 1 thing to work on-Visualize PERFECT technique in slow motion, normal speed, then add speed!

Here is one key concept that PEAK PERFORMERS know about setting a reaching goals: The goal is indeed important, but more important is knowing WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO TO REACH THAT GOAL?

...are you willing to play in front of no fans (even when pandemic is over) at a small school? If YES is still your answer & If you love competing at your sport no matter what, when or where- you have a good chance at that athletic scholarship!

High school athletes: do you want to play your sport on scholarship in college? If your 1st thought is popularity & your pic w/that cap on signing day, then your off to a poor start MENTALLY! Think 6am workouts, mandatory study time, 9pm curfew, off-season workouts-and.....

Young athletes: people often tell you to set goals, right? To increase your chances of reaching your goals, two more mental steps are needed. 1. Be crystal clear on WHY you’re setting this goal. 2. Plan the steps of HOW you will reach your goal. Remember WHY & HOW!

How quickly do professional athletes move past a mistake in competition? It is sport specific- but faster than you might think. “In-game” adjustment are pretty minimal; post game analysis is done ASAP like w/in 24 hrs. Then they MOVE ON!

In sport mental Toughness isn’t something you wake up with one day-it builds over time. You can help it along by engaging in tasks that are distasteful but necessary. Young athletes: go engage in that thing you really hate about your sport-and do it repeatedly. Toughness follows!

This is resilience and mental toughness! lnkd.in/g8NAuzN

Keep in mind, even if there is a delay in your sport resuming play, you can always work on your mental game. No playing field needed! Visualization of the proper technique is one way- take perfect “mental reps” multiple times per day.
