I saw this bee at Brechfa Forest today. I think it is B. campestris Field Cuckoo Bee but must admit that I find bumblebee identification challenging.

Mike's wood sandpiper was the highlight from the Glamorgan Bird Club guided walk I left this morning. Other interesting birds included little egret, nuthatch, 3 green sandpipers, black-tailed godwit and common sandpiper. @glamorganbirds

There was a Wood Sandpiper first thing this am on Kenfig Pool east shore, very pleased my first self found in Glamorgan! Other highlights 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 6 Ringed Plover and a Common Sandpiper.

One of our dogs, Lola, has ruptured her cruciate ligament and has been confined to carried walks and crate rest for 12 weeks.

What's going on with this marsh thistle that I photographed at Kenfig yesterday? @PlantlifeCymru @KenfigWarden

Pleased to find at least three orange-tip caterpillars on garlic mustard in our back garden this morning.

What I think is a black oil beetle on coastal path from the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth this afternoon.

It was a wonderful privilege to share my birthday with family in Devon yesterday.

We made a quick dash to Kenfig after breakfast to see this little stint which is surprisingly rare here. Thanks Mike Cram for the find. @KenfigWarden #glambirds

This is a sentiment I heard time and time again from visiting birders during my time working at Daventry Country Park and Kenfig NNR.

Now I'm into birding, I can't imagine life without it. I've had so many great experiences, met loads of brilliant people, seen some ace wildlife and it's given me true enjoyment... and I've only been going just under a year! Starting birding was the best thing I've ever done.

I led a pleasant walk out to Sker Point for the Glamorgan Bird Club on the monthly guided walk. Highlights included 18 golden plover, peregrine, yellow wagtail, whitethroat and a very confiding adult male sparrowhawk. #glambirds @KenfigWarden

Volunteer warden, Mary Gallagher, caught and photographed this bumblebee at Kenfig this afternoon. We've hardly recorded any cuckoo bees at Kenfig so have little experience. We think it's B. campestris (Field Cuckoo Bee) but are open to comments on ID. @olds_liam

Best bird of this year at Kenfig for me. Thanks @neild1962 for the find and @MikeCram5 for the update. Sadly it flew off to the north at 11am.

The first Wood Sandpiper for three years was at Kenfig Pool and proved to be one of the most obliging I have ever seen. It even gave a burst of song at one point and called regularly before it was seen heading off strongly north. Also 3 LRP, 4 Dunlin & 4 Spot Fly #glambirds

The flattest 10km I've ever ran on disused railway line at Red Bog, Tregaron.

Moths from our garden trap set last night including a rather nice eyed hawk-moth.

Our little front garden meadow is looking colourful this June. Brown argus butterflies breed every year. They seem to prefer the bird's-foot trefoil over the paving for egg laying. @_joelashton

There were several male bees on today's bumblebee transect walk at Kenfig today including this moss carder bee (we think) and shrill carder bee. @BuglifeCymru

A good catch of moths in the garden last night. Including Brussels lace, oak eggar and a possible large Wainscot.
