Socio-economic inequalities are the biggest driver of health inequalities. Put simply, poverty kills. Having welfare advisors in our general practices as part of a trusted team improves access and reduces stigma for people with financial stress impacting on health. @deependGP

This is a key recommendation from fantastic work by @PHanlon17 and team - supporting @MichaelMarmot’s calls for “proportionate universalism” Premature frailty will be very familiar to all working in @deependgp @EMAtTheDeepEnd @DeepEndGP_YH @DeepEndGP_CBR @deepend_ireland

If health services are to adequately respond to widespread inequalities in frailty, resourcing of healthcare services should be proportionate with the level of need. This requires additional resource in the context of socioeconomic deprivation.
