#LymphaticFilariasis (LF), or elephantiasis, is a parasitic disease spread by #mosquitoes. Though infection occurs in childhood, its painful and disfiguring effects—such as the enlargement of body parts—appear much later in life, leading to disability and stigma. 2/8

Timor-Leste entered post-MDA surveillance after confirming, through WHO surveys, that prevalence was below target thresholds. MDA was halted nationwide, while the Ministry extended care for lymphoedema and hydrocele patients at health facilities. 6/8
