You are your first, and often only, line of defense. Per SCOTUS, the State's agents have ZERO duty to protect. Preventing peaceable people from easily accessing the tools needed to protect themselves from disproportionate, unjust force will only make this worse.

5" at 20 yards with a rifle isn't pretty tight. Add poor lighting, a moving target (potentially one that's shooting back at you), and any sort of awkward or compromised shooting position and you'll quickly understand why 30 is a lot better than 10.
I know many who follow me haven't shot guns or semi automatic rifles before. Even with zero training I could shoot a pretty tight grouping at 20 yards. Just look. You don't need 30 round mags. If you can't stop whatever you need to with 10 7.62 rounds. You got bigger problems.
