Be in Search of Self-Incompetence. To learn something new is telling yourself that you did something wrong.
The toothpaste is out of the tube. Can’t put it back in.
Stay the course. When things are feeling like they are not going your way, but you want to revert back to how things were, don't do it. Stay the course and move forward!
Going OON is scary. You have no guaranteed safety net. You have to fight to survive every month to make sure you meet payroll and pay back any practice loans. Dropping insurances is not for the weak.
Patient loyalty. Works for some, not for all. Despite being a continued pt for 10 years, some pts will still leave.
I don’t in the deferred life plan. Do the thing that you want to do.
Your competition is lazy af. Do the details that they wouldn’t do.
You can go broke reinvesting back into your business. And yes, still taking a 50% pay cut.
It's ok to fire your coach and find a new one. You should be able to diagnose your own problems and be self-sustaining without a coach.
Get yourself an accountability team or a group of mentors. Pick their brains, and apply what worked and not worked for them to your own business. You are your own best coach.
The coaching business is lucrative. The best coach is yourself, you know what you need to do. You don't need someone to tell you what you already know.
As a business owner, you defer profits and re-invest in business. That is the way.
Train and practice under pressure or when tired. That’s when you gotta perform.
Proactive dentistry: Regular check-ups help keep people on track. Prevention over treatment.
Saturday work days are interesting. You know you won't do anything in the mornings except lounge around and what not. Of course the kid sport activities are there too. Half the time, you're just bored, why not work?
Rite of Passage: dental student, residency, associate, acquire a practice, work 6 days a week, struggle a few years, then maybe you'll be that dentist you thought you were going to be. There's levels to dentistry in the real world.
6 day work week. 2 weeks in a row. The hustle is real.
The quality of your dentistry is tied to the quality of your practice, the community, the neighborhood. What's good for your dental community, is good for you! Luckily, you have control and can build that community.
I used to care about my work being judged. In dentistry, dentists talk shit about other dentists with other dentists. But when it comes to patients, we think twice about throwing their previous dentist under the bus. It's a cut-throat world.
