Today an 88-year lease on 47 Station Street, Birmingham comes to an end. It’s a chance to reflect on the remarkable life of this resilient little picture house behind New St Station, arguably the oldest cinema in the UK. What might its next chapter might look like? 1/21

Jez is right. Station St, The Electric & The Crown should be thriving, money making, arts providing spaces right on the doorstep of one of the biggest train stations in the UK. Brum can provide incredible cultural experiences, inspiration in the arts & economic benefits here.

This has been a collaborative effort working closely with @BOMlab @karen_new_ & others. The support from @andy4wm has been invaluable but we now need to bring a collaborative team together inc @WestMids_CA @BhamCityCouncil developers, investors & cultural orgs to reimagine 1/2

Dear Work, I won't be getting much done today. I'll be toasting Jez @ Bham Music Archive and everyone who's worked so hard over the years to get The Crown listed status. #SaveTheElectric #SaveStationStreet BUT #LONGLIVETHECROWN. 🦇👑🦇

***BREAKING*** Everyone ready for some VERY good news? The Crown Inn — widely regarded as the birthplace of heavy metal music — has been listed at Grade II by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, on the advice of Historic England. It is best known for being the venue…

Thanks to our colleagues at @WMFSHighgate for their prompt response to a small fire here today. Our warden on patrol was commended for their quick actions in alerting the team and even got to sit in the truck for a moment afterwards. THANK YOU again
