You can’t increase payments to beneficiaries while cutting $500 million a year without dramatically closing access for beneficiaries

Ecstatic to see 3/4 of the leaders at the minor party debate whakapapa Māori. But disappointed to hear two prominent Māori leaders criticising ‘Māori elitists’ for wanting equitable outcomes under the Tiriti o Waitangi.

Just noticed @HoytsNZ has added an acknowledged to Māori and te Tiriti on their website. Feels a little Australian but I’m totally here for it. Keen to hear how their breathing life into their acknowledgment.

Nan (89 y/o), Dad, and I are watching Whina, and Nan keeps saying: “That can’t be William cause he’s too dark… is that Pā Tate… is that Hēmi Peita… etc.” Dad repeatedly said their actors but nan thinks it’s a doco - bless her soul.

Tim Shadbolt, 75 years old, bows out as Invercargill mayor after 22 years of service. Despite this, I'm surprised the majority of people in Tāmaki Makaurau have chosen to vote for another septuagenarian (aged 76 years old) to represent their views.

Are you (or someone in your network) interested in working with Māori to plan, build, and design the future of Tāmaki Makaurau? We’re looking for someone to join our Māori Outcomes team at @PanukuAKL HMU for a kōrero about the role, pay, work, etc careers.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/job/Central-Au…

Kia ora e te whānau o Tīhau, ActionStation are looking for an Operations Manager to join their team, it's a cool leadership role if ya'll know anyone dogoodjobs.co.nz/jobs/operation…

I’m waiting in a queue at TVNZ for a WOF along with 20 blank-eyed strangers. It’s Sunday, the sun is out, please end this purgatory.

National’s Demand the Debate campaign stinks of the racist iwi versus kiwi rhetoric from 15 years ago. It didn’t resonate with people then and it won’t resonate now.

My Aunty Margaret Jackson just rang up for my nana and said, “is baby there?” Nana is 88-years-old. Evidence we never outgrow our relationships to each other.

#Waitangi PM Jacinda Arden announces that, after advice from tohunga whetūrangi, Matariki will be celebrated 24 June in 2022.

Te Rūnanga at Unitec has put a tono out for someone new to join their advisory board. Considering AUT and Unitec are undergoing a merger, it's more important than ever to have strong voices for Māori at the table.

.@UnitecNZ seek Rūnanga Member who has a demonstrated background in law (with a particular focus on the unique position of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and governance). bit.ly/boardrolesnz

Can someone make a loop of Mihi using a three-second answer to explain the whakapapa of Ihumātao.

The pluck of Judith to confidently claim the kōwhai as her favourite indigenous tree when she can't even pronounce it correctly.

On Ihumātao Judith said "That's private land... they should get off that land, and I'm not paying a cent of money on it" I hope all Māori (and tangata Tiriti) are urgently voting to protect our sacred Māori places and spaces.

Signal boost after hearing Judith Collins say "David Seymour will make a great Deputy Prime Minister."

Act policy: ❗️Cut min wage & freeze it for 3yrs ❗️Interest back on student loans ❗️KiwiSaver Govt subsidy gone ❗️Cancel Winter Energy Payment ❗️Zero Carbon Act gone ❗️End Best Start ❗️Add $8-$12k to university fees ❗️Cut benefits ❗️Cuts to working for families

NZ may contribute 0.17% of greenhouse gases worldwide, but per capita, we are the 21st biggest contributor towards climate change. We can't be negligent in responding to the biggest crises in our generation. The rhetoric that our role is small is stale stuff.co.nz/environment/cl…

Why does talking about race make politicians so awkward. When asked about racism in the public health system, Jacinda said there are unequal outcomes and Judith said that some people may have unconscious bias. Our health system (like all spaces) contains structural racism

Judith is worried if weed becomes legal there could be 400 outlets in New Zealand. For context, if anyone is worried about the potential of 400 cannabis outlets after the referendum, Auckland has at least 980 off-licence alcohol outlets.

Is there a person working for the gang census that goes door-to-door asking if people have recently got patched? I feel sick to think Judith’s response to ‘controling’ gangs is increased power for police to enter homes to look for firearms #leadersdebate
