Being an actor means being a professional, and auditions are a large part of the job. Being a well prepared professional when you enter the room starts with the lines. If you don’t know the lines, you won’t have the emotion. And confusion always comes across on camera.
actors who memorize the copy get the callback... absolutely applies to spokesperson/host roles. memorization is key, and a confident delivery while being casual, warm & conversational is everything.

A very helpful tip to my fellow actors! 📣 Don't defend yourself; take direction then make adjustments. To me, reacting in this way is a direct result of the ego. As @RyanHoliday says, "ego is the enemy."
when you get direction in a commercial casting session -- it's a good thing, a great thing, actually! you have not failed... it shouldn't feel like a gut punch. try to be open & implement the notes the best you can. it's a good sign!
