This sums up the lie of this govt. This govt is a fraud - always has been - because it was built on the lie that Brexit would not be bad for the British economy. Which clearly it is. As a result, every claim is made to try and back up that lie. So they have to lie - continually.

Ben Bradshaw - Dover is experiencing serious disruption... the warnings of the critics of your govt's brexit deal have come true.. Kent has just turned into a massive car park... causing damage to the economy? Grant Shapps - Nothing to do with brexit, it's all the fault of P&O

It's just ridiculous at this point.

One of those days where you can simply write off the performance as an irrelevance. The fact is, Liverpool had to win today no matter what and they overcame numerous setbacks (mostly self-inflicted!) to do so. EIGHT points clear and now onto a massive week at Anfield.

Nobody wants this Premier League title more than Mohamed Salah. Not you, not me, not anyone. A colossal human being.

On the VAR, I’m not totally convinced that Michael Oliver had the freeze frame of the foul at the right time. The one he looks at, the boot is just on the line but I think it should’ve been a frame or two earlier

A Brexiter writes: “Brexit wasn’t delivered.” In a sense, he’s correct. The fantasy version of Brexit that was offered was always impossible. That’s why we should rejoin the EU.

We’ve had Boris Johnson on the US Presidential Election coverage, Jacob Rees-Mogg with a new reality TV show & now Nadine Dorries on #BBCLauraK This attempt to rehabilitate the legacy of some of the worst people to ever hold public office needs to stop immediately

One of the last remaining reasons I listen to the Today programme is @MishalHusain: if it’s true she’s leaving it, I think it’ll be the end of that show.

The very online right’s latest harebrained scheme involves a petition to get a general election called in Britain. It’s topped 100k, apparently. Guys, more than 4 million people signed a petition to have a second EU referendum and nothing happened. Come up with a better plan.

Hong Kong Phooey (1974) It always blows my mind that Scatman Crothers from The Shining is the voice of Penry, the mild mannered janitor who occasionally jumps into a filing cabinets and bursts out as Hong Kong Phooey. It also blows my mind that only 17 episodes were made.

Amazing opportunity for someone to start the work of repairing the damage Boris Johnson's Brexit deal did. Will inevitably be controversial, but there is strong public support for a closer relationship bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Angela Merkel writes on Brexit in her new memoir: “To me, the result felt like a humiliation, a disgrace for us, the other members of the European Union.” Trust me, it’s been worse for us…

Or @LFC without VVD ?

Of course City are way worse when Rodri is out injured just like Arsenal are way worse when Odegaard is out injured. In these cases pundits and football journalists often say stuff like “that’s not the whole story” but it is at the very least a huge part of the story.

Bank of England source in the Times on Rachel Reeves: "She went from being a junior economist to being a professional economist” the source added. “She was fine, she wasn’t a high-flyer, but she was an economist". She was an economist. That's it. Literally what is the issue here.

Take everything one game at a time. Dont worry about titles or outside noise. Just full focus on the next game. Nothing else. So many games to go.

People are too quick to weaponise gender (along with race) in politics. But Rachel Reeves qualified as an economist with a masters from the LSE, and earned a merit in the process. No man would have their qualifications questioned in this way. Ever.

Gareth Southgate saw this version of Kyle Walker and decided he was a better option at right-back than Trent Alexander-Arnold. Genuinely one of the worst selection decisions ever.
