It’s really exciting to imagine what rural Ireland could become. We could have a wool economy, access to locally grown food, thriving wildlife, well paid farmers, revival of old vegetable varieties and traditions. The possibilities are endless, change is just a bit scary is all

Eoin is spot on! The new #Mercosur trade deal will only benefit companies such as Brazil’s JBS who alone are responsible for destroying up to 32,000 hectares of amazon rainforest. This rate of deforestation will only increase if the new deal goes ahead! @greenparty_ie

"There is a lot of fudge here, and there's some green sprinkles on top," says @ciarancuffe commenting after the release of #ClimatePlan2019. "I will judge this plan by the results and I don't see that step change in terms of real commitments."

We need a new land use plan to go with #ClimatePlan2019. Showing where & how we can plant more natural forests. Devising a new future for Irish horticulture. Growing dense hedgerows & agroforestry. Rewilding large parts of our country. Restoring prestine water quality.

A Climate Action Plan for #Agriculture that does not mention #Biodiversity is not a plan at all...both must work together in the same shared space. We need a holistic solution...from farm to fork. #ClimateCrisis #BiodiversityCrisis #RegenerativeFarming greenparty.ie/climate-action…

There is a huge social, economic and health costs from the current system. It will also be impossible for us to meet our long term climate goal unless the Department of Transport starts changing their ways. We have to stop the sprawl. #ClimateEmergency #dttas #Ireland2040 2/2

For 25 years we've said that walking, cycling & public transport must come first but time & again it was decided to promote a roads based transport system instead. I set out some of that history in the Transport Committee today to explain the weakness in the #ClimatePlan2019. 1/2

10378 are homeless tonight. Understanding coding/data allowed me to produce graphics which shows 48 acres of vacant sites along with 4907 #Airbnb lettings whilst more than 70% of all residential zoned vacant sites in #Dublin are owned DubCityCouncil or state-controlled. #latelate

I came much closer then I thought but in the end I was struck out on the 6th count! I want to thank everyone who supported me and helped me along the way. The results show overall that there is an appetite for Greens in Co.Louth so the future is definitely Green! @greenparty_ie

Ireland has rejected the politics of hate, scare-mongering & blatant minority-bashing. We passed Marriage Equality, Abortion Rights, Removed Blasphemy from our Constitution, will liberalise Divorce Laws, & have made Climate Justice a priority. #ExitPoll #LE19 #ep2019 #SoProud 🇮🇪

.@CllrMarianne exceeds the quota and elected on the first count in Dundalk South. A wonderful result for her and @greenparty_ie

Turn out is reported to be very low in parts of the country. This vote matters. YOUR vote matters. If you want Green you have to get out and vote Green! 🗳️ #WantGreenVoteGreen #EP2019 #le19 #VoteForClimate

On May 24th, you get to choose the person who'll be your voice in Europe for the next 5 years. Your vote matters. When climate action is crucial, inequality is growing, & progressive voices need to be heard, it's time to take action & vote Green. #wantgreenvotegreen #GreenWave

The mandatory ‘get out to vote’ video. Our whole world is shaped by the decisions we make in the voting booth... in the end ... the vote really matters! #VoteBrave

If you value life on this planet, please vote @greenparty_ie tomorrow. Any other vote is a vote denying reality, and is basically a vote to continue the mass extinction that is already happening. We can’t afford complacency. We can’t afford the status quo. #WantGreenVoteGreen

From @irishexaminer editorial today: "We must choose between stasis and survival: it is that serious, that shockingly simple...#climate collapse is the issue of our time and by far the greatest threat facing our children." #EUelections2019 #climatecrisis irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/v…
