Go off YTD point standings all year, top 16 get in playoffs. If you win in a round you advance, the remaining spots are filled by the YTD point standings that are being added to with each playoff race. Very high chance the best cars all make the last race, winner take all.
The shame of this post race controversy is it’s going to take the heat off nascar for throwing the green with a tire rolling down the track and then immediately throwing the yellow and then using that order the re-stack the race.
Nascar IT definitely is working on getting an online poll up to decide who should be in between the 20/24.
