My good friend, who also happens to be my boss has a great message for you and for me…

An important message from our executive director, Jen!

“As often as you take pleasure in hearing the latest news, then you must suffer the consequences of a troubled mind and heart.” ⁃The Imitation of Christ (this quote, from a book written in the 1400’s, challenges me today to spend less time on my newsfeed)

We have GOT to carry our cross!

Part Three: If you have not yet given all that you are to Jesus, you can do that right now. Don’t be afraid. He only wants to help you. Tonight, I will be seeing Petra in concert once again, as part of my ongoing YES. And I will be praying for each one of you.

Part Two: Though that night was one of countless experiences that have shaped me into who I am, it was among the most important moments, because it was the first time that I gave a complete YES to God to do with me as He wills.

Part One: Forty-one years ago, as a sophomore in college, a good friend invited me to go see a Christian rock band called Petra in concert. That night, I said a prayer, giving my life to Jesus, and then I stood up as a sign of that commitment.

a teen legit told me on a break during yesterday's retreat "Your joke earlier today was hilarious and I can't wait to get home and tell my dad, but I didn't laugh out loud because I was afraid of what my friends might think of me if I did."

Jesus washed the feet of friends and enemies. No ego or hate. He humbly loved his neighbors. How can we do the same?

I just talked to the mother of a teenager who was on a recent MORE retreat. She told me that her “smart ass kid” “didn’t totally hate it”. She was happy to share that feedback with me, and I am thrilled to have received it. I hope your day is starting off as well as mine!

today, a student at our retreat center had the experience of his shoe falling apart, but one of our staff members was able to find some superglue to help him out. I guess you could say that we saved a sole today
