You will do the PCR once you land at your final destination.
I'm returning from Europe with 5hr layover in Toronto. Do I do the test on arrival to Canada or at final destination? I'm assuming final destination but its not clear.
If you are flying back to Canada from the US you do NOT need the PCR done when you land (but this could change at any time). However from anywhere else that PCR test is required and you must self-isolate until it comes back negative (typically 24-48 hours).
Do I need to Qurantine if I'm fully vaccinated coming back from the US? Your post is confusing.
Not as of Dec 21 whether flying or crossing the land border. And the PCR or RT-Lamp teat must be administered in the US before coming back into Canada.

Travel questions? Ya me too. Tune in while I ask @clairenewell all the worrying stuff keeping me up at night. That and a bunch of other stuff - including - Bev Desantis of Tourism Kamloops, who will be taking on a board director role at Western Canada Theatre. Show starts at 3.
With the news of Omicron we are talking about how the new variant could impact travel and what you need to know if you’re planning trip. Travel expert @clairenewell is on @SpiceRadioVan at 945 to tell us all about it.
You can get the cheap, rapid antigen test when flying to the US. You can get the results in under 1 hour. A PCR test is required to return to Canada.
How can we fly to USA and get a PCR result within 24 hours? Can we book 2 days a head, get our result next day, then travel the day after (48 hours)?
The PCR test when you land is a new layer of protection the Federal Government is putting in place due to the Omicron variant of concern. One you take it you need to self-isolate until you get the negative result.
We just got our RT-Lamp test kits through Aeroplan to take with us to Mexico - you do them the day before you return online with Switch health and they email you the results. But what is the test you need when you get back to Canada?
Correct. You don’t need one to go to Mexico. But you will need a PCR to return at your expense. And soon another PCR when you land (no cost).
@clairenewell My understanding for going to Mexico is that we don't need a PCR test to go, but we need one to come back? Do we need a second test in Canada?
This will be fun😊👏🏻
Exciting news! Tomorrow, 12/7, @clairenewell of @TravelBestBets will be taking over our Twitter account and sharing all about her recent visit to Anaheim. Be sure to follow along with all the fun! 🙌
