I wrote a thing. (And, for clarity, I don’t want any kind of revolt, I want to stay home and do my job) unherd.com/2024/11/a-farm…

Whether you’re a fan of Hallowe’en or not, you have to give it credit for being the last line of defence against Christmas advancing even earlier into the year, a ragtag gang of goths holding the line against a battalion of baubled barbarians

If you’re hesitant about doing something hard or difficult, stand up, look at your hands, & say exactly what you’re going to do three times out loud I SWEAR that shit works Also, every time you want a snack, drink a cup of water first What’s a simple life hack you learned?

Legalise gear and charge VAT on it before the Oasis reunion and we’ll be experiencing Saudi Arabian levels of economic opulence by next Christmas.

It’s all this tat which is collapsing the world. The planet does not have enough raw materials to keep making this shite which no one really needs. We won’t stop until we’re dead.

Dear Home Bargains, It is August. AUGUST. Feck off with this shite.

Sex and the City is fun to rewatch at different points in your life cuz your perspective on whatevers happening changes like sometimes you get Carrie other times u can't stand her... but no matter what Samantha is always the queen she transcends time and space

Guys just a heads up re: Couch to 5k. It’s literally zero couch. You’d think day 1 would be some couch but no, the couch element is essentially day 0. You are moving from the word go, should be called 0-5km to be honest. So yeah be warned

Didn't see the Bucks Free Press article until today asking same questions to all of the Chesham/Amersham candidates but kudos to @GarethWatBucks for being the only one who when asked "have you ever taken illegal drugs and if so what?" gave no answer. Everyone else said "no".

So let's talk about where people should and shouldn't live, because it's something people have said to me a lot for years: "Nobody should live in Phoenix/Las Vegas in the first place." It's an extremely silly thing to say, of course, even if it's true.

I struggle to find British apples in supermarkets, so good luck with this message

We shouldn’t be reliant on foreign food. Buy British.

But your party massively reduced the Child Tax Credit threshold that enabled many parents to stay at home with their children. It also removed Child Tax Credits for a third child.

Labour’s plan for babies…. Six months with mummy or daddy (if you’re lucky) then handed over to the State so mummy and daddy can get back to the Critical National Endeavour of Generating GDP. Has anyone asked if this is best for children? bit.ly/48xj4MB 1/4

there should be a "take your friend to work day" so we can actually see what our friends do all day and meet the characters from all their work stories

People aren’t just born with a disability , people can acquire a disability at any point in their life. It can be temporary or permanent No one is born a carer but you can easily become one Then what financially? Think before you cheer on benefit cuts, think carefully indeed
