BC elections are heating up. Remember: Vote for decent people and those you know by reputation to have done a good job. Ignore the menus, lists and whatever other schemes and devices they come up with. We want the Rule of Law, and to chance to make a decent living. It's basic.

Lawyer when asking for 3rd round extension of time: “I am so sorry, I truly appreciate this.” Same lawyer when we ask for our 1st extension of time: “Clearly you are purposefully delaying this matter. We insist to bring this before the Judge.” Ok… I heard you loud and clear

2 months ago, we lost a case. Opponent lied in their affidavits and we could not disprove it. But after the decision, we found evidence to disprove the lies. So we filed for contempt of court. Ex parte leave for contempt has just been granted. See them soon, I guess, for Round 2

Have you tried apologising by saying "sorry it happened, but I'm actually not responsible?". Next time your spouse is mad at you, try it and see. If it works on the "father of our nation" Anwar Ibrahim, surely it works for your spouse also.

What is required to successfully claim for construction defects? Watch our next Construction Law Malaysia youtube episode. youtu.be/iJaX8W7B3HU?si… via @YouTube

Last Fri, an application (filed 2 days before trial for a 3-year old matter) to disqualify us as solicitors was disallowed. We relied on the CA case of Mirza Mohamed Tariq - there must be full particulars of confidential info disclosed, not mere allegations.

As a young lawyer, I used to smirk at the way force majeure clauses were drafted. This was late 1990s and in Malaysia, we do NOT have wars, riots, civil commotion, earthquake etc. Today, I commenced an arbitration on account of force majeure of war. What has the world come to?

Spent an hour persuading a client not to sue. Sigh... if only I was more business-savvy...

I cannot brain how some folks are defending SA on children! There is NO racial-religious dimension to the argument - it is PLAIN WRONG.

Behind every able advocate stands a formidable solicitor who has made the advocacy possible.

So true...

Is this true?
