Important to determine if poor growth in patches is caused by soilborne diseases such as rhizoctonia and take-all, and/or root lesion nematode species

WA growers noticing poor patches in their crops this season should diagnose and confirm the issue. This will help put the right management plan in place for 2025 #PestFactsWA @GRDCWest agric.wa.gov.au/newsletters/pe…

Our field trials are showing great visuals of how damaging lupin Sclerotinia can be. It was good to have field walks to share our research results to date. Very thankful for growers who host our trials and for our DPIRD Field Research Operations team @DPIRDbroadacre @GRDCWest

Great turnout at MIG sandplain field day & opportunity to share some of the key research results from our 4 year lupin Sclerotinia project. Really valuable that the lupin growers impacted by the disease are involved in conducting the research @DPIRDbroadacre @GroupMIG @GRDCWest

BYMV spread by aphids is more common than usual in Geraldton port zone this year…causes lupins to look pale and yellowing, and stem or branches can have a characteristic shepherds crook appearance. Pods turn black. See PestFacts WA for more

Bean yellow mosaic virus found in narrow leaf lupins at Geraldton and Moonyoonooka. Botrytis grey mould is also being found in narrow leaf lupins Geraldton and in chickpeas at Northam. #PestFactsWA @GRDCWest agric.wa.gov.au/newsletters/pe…

Unfortunately the soft finish to the season we were hoping for in the northern grain belt hasn’t eventuated. This week Geraldton pz is going to be dry and have many days >25 deg C which will limit spread of wheat powdery mildew and Sclerotinia in canola and lupin @DPIRDbroadacre

So far this spring @DPIRDbroadacre rain to date map, Pemberton 70 mm, Bencubbin 0.6 mm. Some frost, Bonnie Rock (-1.6C) and Kulin both have 4 nights below 2C so far. Higher temps, Ridley North 32.7, Yuna NE 31.8. Northampton forecast 32C this Saturday. #climate
