You can read about the full osteology of Revueltosaurus for free here, in the awesome @AnatRecord volume guest edited by @paleofox and @CrocHolliday: anatomypubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ar…

The osteoderms around the tail of Revueltosaurus fused into a club-like structure, 140 million years before the first ankylosaurian dinosaurs. This specimen is being prepped in the @PetrifiedNPS public demonstration lab. #fossilfriday

One of the things that worries me most about current social media trends is that we are now relying on algorithms to decide what we should consume. We have become passive, rather than active, agents in our own quest to stay informed, and losing the ability to evaluate sources.

Check out the eerily prophetic opening to @mschudson2 's 1995 classic, "The Power of News" - what would happen without journalism....

If you actually took DNA samples from amber and cloned extinct species from it, you would more likely get a lot of species that you've not seen fossilized before. Not unrealistic that you would have a lot of embryo vials just labeled "IDK", "Whatever the fuck this is", "IDK 2"

Thrilled to right an unintentional wrong: we have added Marilyn Fox, Chief Preparator at @yalepeabody as an author to our Poposaurus 2020. Her contribution was invaluable. Yes 100s+ hrs of skilled prep = intellectual contribution. Just like CT segmentation! Update your Endnote!

Why we don’t find eggshell littering the Chinle Formation unlike some of the Cretaceous units I’ve worked in. I hypothesized this years ago based on that difference, but was told I just didn’t know what to look for. Sure.

Recent fossil discovery suggests the first dinosaur egg was leathery phys.org/news/2023-11-f… via @physorg_com
