We have opened a new dedicated space within our critical care unit for the enhanced recovery of some patients after cardiac surgery. 🫀 These patients will benefit from care from a dedicated nurse-led team, supported by a lead surgeon and intensivist. 💙 royalpapworth.nhs.uk/our-hospital/l…

End of another chapter in my nursing career, over the last 17 months I have been working in the PVDU team @RoyalPapworth, unfortunately it could not continue so onto a new chapter. Enhanced Recovery Unit opening soon streamlining the post op pathway for Cardiac Surgery pts 💙
Sam representing @RoyalPapworth @PHA_UK Thank you Sam for championing the PVDU service at Royal Papworth 💙
"I couldn't wish for a better team at @RoyalPapworth, they're just amazing". 💙 Thank you Kate for including your @RoyalPapworth experience and praising our PH nurses and palliative care team within this video about your idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension diagnosis. 👇🏻
🎬 It’s been 2 years since Kate Alsford was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension & she’s learning to adapt to life with the disease. She spoke to us to share her challenges, her gratitude, & her advice to others: youtube.com/watch?v=_MZfbY…
Thank you Kate for the shout out to the PHSN @RoyalPapworth understanding out patient’s journey is so important to all of us 💙

I now have a blank page in front of me, not sure what direction to go now, time to reflect on what I’ve learnt and rethink my nursing journey. Reminding myself where I’ve been and what I’ve done. Lives I’ve touched, have I got the strength to go again?? I’m not so sure!
Another hard lesson learnt today. Sometimes when you think something is right for you it may not be right for everyone else 💙
We're proud to share that our Chair, Dr Iain Armstrong, has been shortlisted for 'Nurse of the Year' and 'Cardiovascular Nurse of the Year' at the @BJNursing Awards. The winners will be announced at the end of March... watch this space! 🤞
📅 30 years at Royal Papworth 🏥 A pioneer in the operation and management of life support during open heart surgery 👨🏫 An educator and inspiration for generations of anaesthetic trainees A lovely tribute to 'Papworth Hero', Don Bethune in @bmj_latest bmj.com/content/384/bm…
Thanks @patcullen9 for listening to the concerns of our nursing team on CCA. Let's hope the government's consultation will recognise and reward our highly skilled workforce, and consider a high-cost area allowance for Cambridge so we don't continue to lose valuable nursing staff.
Leaving Cambridge after spending a fantastic morning with our members at Papworth Hospital. What expertise amongst our nursing workforce. The government must recognise thier clinical skills & expertise witha significant pay rise. Otherwise we will continue to lose these staff.
How I wish @Courtney_Lawes was playing for England tomorrow! Good luck in France with Brive mate, you deserve this final move of your career. Unbelievable service to @SaintsRugby 👏
#ThrowbackThursday! Going through old press cuttings, we came across this feature from Woman's Weekly in 2007. A great piece to raise awareness, with a story from a PHA UK member & expert advice from our Chair, Dr Iain Armstrong (looking a little more fresh-faced 17 years ago!)
