I think my other annoyance with this whole discourse is the desire to say “well the SEC is good so they should have more teams in” and not “here are teams from the SEC that should be in.” It attempts to reframe the question as a referendum of the SEC instead of real teams.
Conference realignment/expansion messed up the CFP, it messed up scheduling, it messed up TV windows, it messed up travel, it messed up rivalries. It messed up so many of the things fans care about and what we take into account for determining the quality of teams.
The entire sport has been ruined for the SEC schools, they have all the advantages in the world. And they can not stop whining for even one second

Learning a lot about the CFP this year. Up here in the B1G we think the committee should value things like results on the field, wins and losses, handling your schedule. SEC takes more of a “hypothetical I made up in my head about how much we’d beat you by” approach.
The Eagles were the team to prevent the Patriots 3 peat 2016-2018 and will be the team to prevent the Chiefs 3 peat 2022-2024.
