The overturning of Roe v. Wade now appears imminent. This will rob us of our fundamental freedoms and rights. My opponent Don Davis voted with Republicans to restrict access to abortion and defund planned parenthood. Election day is May 17th. Freedom is on the ballot.

So where are we putting the Caleb Love monument

NC-12 and the OBX have the NC flooding headlines today, but has anyone seen anything from Belhaven? Looks like they surged into "major" flooding territory before the wind switch. This is only a few inches shy of Florence's flooding, which did this: wral.com/weather/hurric…

Soundside flooding is worsening all along NC12 between Oregon Inlet and Hatteras. Currently, travel is NOT ADVISED on NC12. If you absolutely must venture out, be prepared for these conditions and drive with EXTREME CAUTION.

A new 2nd place! Before November, the Beaufort tide gauge had only ever broken 6ft during hurricanes. This is now the *3rd time in 10 weeks* we've had water levels >6ft. That 6ft mark is important because it means several businesses flood if they don't sandbag their doors!

Well, that record didn't even last 2 months - this morning's high tide reached 6.39ft, a new non-hurricane record high water level for Beaufort. And since 1960, it's the 3rd-highest water level overall, exceeded only by hurricanes Ophelia (2005) and Florence (2018)!

Dug through the NOAA Beaufort tide gauge records, and today's crest of 6.04ft above MLLW is in fact the highest non-hurricane crest on record (1953-present)! And exceeded only by 8 hurricanes over that time period - water.weather.gov/ahps2/crests.p…
