We see or read appalling things happening in the world as the result of violence in man. You may say, ‘I can’t do anything about it’, or, ‘How can I influence the world?’ You can tremendously influence the world if you are not violent, if you lead every day a peaceful life.

Thinking capitalism and greed are the solution for the problems capitalism and greed create = thinking violence is the solution for the problems violence creates.

4. The great majority of what we listen to imparts no useful knowledge or understanding about our world. It feels like a defensive reaction: a determination not to know. I’ve come to believe that this frantic triviality is as dangerous as any propaganda.

"If some day we disappear, it won't be cruelty that'll be responsible for our extinction and still less the indignation that cruelty awakens and the vengeance that it brings upon itself... but the lack of responsibility of men and the acceptance of current codes" George Bernanos
