Instead of naturally engaging with all the aspects of fighting games (spacing, movement, etc) they skip to what most people consider fun and interactive about fighting games, up close brawling. This removes any nuance the genre has in order for short bursts of engagement.
Can you elaborate on this take a bit? I’m not sure I get the meaning but I want to.
Modern fighting games are EXTREMELY cynical and the reasons they have interaction buttons is for cheap engagement, every time you press something like drive rush or 66l or white wild assault its basically the equivalent of the tiktok family guy + subway surfers clips.
