I'm really happy to announce that my first PhD chapter is out in the world now! Here we talk a lot about how threatened species can suffer from the association with coralivorous gastropods. Stay tuned for the series of papers about the topic we are bringing to the world 🪸🐚

If there is snow on the ground in Derby, there are corals spawning in the tanks. One more snowing spawning season 🪸

It’s rare we get the majority of the research group in one place (and we are still missing a few elusive ones), but this is the current rag tag bunch I get to spend some time with these days 🥰 @DerbyUni

Great week starting with my first thesis chapter accepted for publication! Couldn't be happier talking about my babies and counting the days now for the PhD title 🪸

Famous baby corals

Our baby corals are becoming celebrities again - we’ve filmed so much these last few months @DerbyUni the team are becoming naturals infront of the cameras @CoralSpawning

#WorldReefDay is celebrated on June 1st. On this day we want to make people aware of the problem of losing our reefs, the majority of which are made up of corals. Save the corals and the reefs, all our actions matter. One choir at a time and we will make a big difference!

Last Night Professor Michael Sweet (@DiseaseMatters) and PhD student (@DamascenoTaissa) appeared on @BBCNews to discuss the development of heat-resistance corals and how it improves their abilities to face climate change. 🪸🔬 Watch the full clip: ow.ly/9BMs50Rc39X

Guess who was talking about Brazilian corals at #SCCS2024 today? Glad to be here representing LBMar @uepbonline and the ARF @DerbyUni and talking about my favourite thing in the world 🪸

Our babies 🩷

I’m a proud (adoptive) mama! It’s been thrilling to watch these babies go from egg bundles to these beauties. At the top you can see them at 40 days, and on the bottom it’s their 5-month-old version 🤍
