Hi everyone !! My name’s Hannah & I’m the new admin for this account. I’m a 2nd year archaeologist at @fitzwilliamcoll and am hoping to show you what life as a archaeology undergrad is like !! pls don’t hesitate to ask any questions :)

submitted my diss yesterday!!!!!! Spent all afternoon euphoric then slept for 14 hours straight 😴 #CambTweet

First day warm enough to study on the lawn & we had a visitor :) ! Finally got some much-needed sunshine while editing down my dissertation 🌳 #CambTweet

busy busy week working on the next draft of my diss - I thought i’d have more of a window between sending it to my supervisors & dealing their with feedback but they were rlly speedy & now i’ve got lots of maps and figures to make 💨 #cambtweet

Back early to my last term (ever!!) at Cambridge. Plenty of coursework to do but it’s so much nicer to be working in the libraries here, with friends, than in my bed at home 😅 #CambTweet

Out of Cambridge & still working!! This Easter I’ve got several coursework projects + my dissertation to write (plus revision) but also need to make space for recharging after an exhausting Lent term… it does help to be near the beach :) #CambTweet

At the Late Bronze Age settlement of Must Farm, over 56 beads were recovered made from amber, shale, siltstone, tin, faience and glass. For the launch of the publication I created replicas of the beads to wear at the event! [1/8]

the AFC feast has returned!!! We ended our committee’s reign with a lively society formal at Homerton on Tuesday. It’s been so rewarding to be a part of the AFC’s growth & I can’t wait to see what the new committee gets up to :)) @TheArcFieldClub #CambTweet

took a day off to watch the varsity baseball game with some friends (very tense but cambridge won on the 10th innings!!), then the rushing back to watch the grand prix this evening ☺️ #CambTweet

managed to go the whole day without my laptop (forgot to charge it 😅) but was in & out of practicals, seminars and a lecture with some productive diss reading in the library in between. Here are some photos from today’s museum session 💥 #CambTweet

feeling nourished after a ceramics handling session this afternoon - my favorite was a vessel with iron pyrite (fool’s gold) temper which was really sparkly! Then a wander about the MAA with some friends & now some diss work #CambTweet #CeramicThursday

rainy rowing this morning, then worked in the fitz cafe, then helped run a @TheArcFieldClub and Classics Soc mosaic social 🧑‍🎨 thanks to the department for letting us host it in one of their labs! #CambTweet

Very hands-on last few days with some volunteering at the Duckworth (selecting skeletons for a 2nd year practical) then a session in the MAA going through some lovely beads and ceramics for a bit of coursework :)) v good way to beat the week 5 blues #CambTweet

Early start and straight to the Haddon to get some admin & reading out of the way this morning before an Africa lecture. Now reading some more - about carnelian bead trade in West Africa - before the @TheArcFieldClub’s open meeting this evening #cambtweet

yesterday morning I worked in the cafe, went to a lecture then wrote more of my colonialism essay. Our GIS work this week is to digitize a map of a cemetery which is a bit time consuming but super satisfying once you get into the swing of things #cambtweet

We succeeded in recreating Neolithic flatbread! This is about as close as I can figure out how to make bread as it would have been baked in one of the first daily bread-making cultures, ca. 9,000 years ago. I’ll let you judge the authenticity…but the taste is fantastic. 🍞🧵

Spent the day in the Classics library working with friends 🥸 I’ve been working on an essay on Roman colonialism, cosmetic sets and peat mosses…….fingers crossed it will make sense in the end……….. #CambTweet

v productive day in the Fitz cafe :) Did some reading, caught up on a lecture I missed, wrote half an essay & rewrote my cv… i’m exhausted 😅 but morning off tomorrow! #CambTweet
