athenut.com is live! Huge shoutout to @thesimplekid for coming up with the idea and making it happen. I helped design the front end. Leaned heavily on Cursor AI. Generated some code and tried to make it work. Feels good to be able to help on this level.

Presenting Athenut – privacy-preserving web search powered by Kagi and Cashu Always wanted to use Kagi but thought it's a joke that a privacy search engine requires you to create an account and pay with a credit card? We have something for you!

.@kagiHQ is one of the best search engines out there. Now you can use it without an account or a subscription. Paid with Bitcoin and Cashu for maximum privacy. athenut.com

How to sell an API in 2024: this is the endpoint, this is how you get the ecash to pay for it.

Sure, athenut.com/search?q={search_query} With an X-Cashu header with a token from mint.athenut.com njump.me/nevent1qqs0aq8…

PS: That's right, it uses Error 402 to restrict access to the search. Since Ecash is a bearer instrument, searches are paid for in the search request itself. Athenut includes locked ecash in the X-Cashu HTTP header, combining search and payment into a single request.

Correction: You can also pay for Kagi with Bitcoin, I wasn't aware: blog.kagi.com/accepting-payp

So you're telling me that your "decentralized" shitcoin can pivot from being its own shitcoin to being a Bitcoin L2 and you still call it "decentralized"?

no thanks https://t.co/FgbFGFafUT

BREAKING: The founder of Cardano @IOHK_Charles just reversed his stance on Bitcoin and announced that Cardano L1 is pivoting to become a Bitcoin L2

What we'll be focussing on for @CashuBTC in the coming months: - bolt12 - websockets - blind auth - fees - keyset rotations - on chain - payment requests - wallet sync - any-amount ecash - cdk mobile app - mintd - external mint signer - HTLC swaps

external mint signer, demoed by the guys behind boardwalk cash. creating a signer and a standard API to talk to several mint implementations is the goal.

programming is self-expression

Nostr combines identity with a data medium, making it easy to find people and enabling secure communication on the same platform. @callebtc breaks down this critical innovation, which paves the way for a big leap forward when it comes to #bitcoin payments, in BR083.

The first Cashu NIPs have made it into the Nostr specifications! Congrats to the devs 👏 * NIP-60 describes portable Cashu wallets that live inside nostr relays * NIP-61 describes nutzaps, a new, instant way to zap users and events by posting ecash locked to their public key

Anonymous eSIMs were there missing piece for a digital life with dignity. Without Bitcoin, we wouldn't have those either (imaging having to pay for one with a credit card). It's all starting to come together, piece by piece.
