Huge scoop from Jake, Bres and Mel — the House Ethics Committee was scheduled to vote in TWO DAYS to release the “highly damaging” report on its investigation into Matt Gaetz. Gaetz’s resignation means the Ethics panel loses its jurisdiction, effectively ending the probe.
Recollecting that bill barr was ready to indict Matt Gaetz and when merrick garland took over he killed the investigation. Historic villain.
The Gaetz nomination is so off-the-wall that I half believe he's sacrificial so Senate R's will gave an easier time confirming all the other questionable picks, having shown their independence by icing Gaetz.

The filibuster frustrates whoever’s in power, but also lowers the stakes of losing one election. Favored R’s in 2021, will favor D’s in 2025. Seems undemocratic—but a temporary majority isn’t supposed to get unlimited power. This is one of many ways they don’t.
