Johnson two days ago: "The Speaker of the House is not involved in that. Can't be involved in that." Johnson today: "I'm going to strongly request that the Ethics Committee not issue the report because that is not the way we do things in the House."

“The rules of the House have always been that a former member is beyond the jurisdiction of the Ethics Committee,” Johnson said, when asked if the public has a right to see the report, given Gaetz will serve as Trump’s top attorney. “And so I don't think that's relevant.”

“Protect the President” from his own pick for AG is a fascinating construction here, as Senate Republicans who have largely super glued themselves to Trump now may be looking for ways to not confirm his most controversial cabinet selection yet

Please tell me how the Senate subpoenas a House report. Does this mean the House can now subpoena Senate report, including from the Senate Ethics Cmte? How does the Senate enforce a subpoena?
