Admission officers and educators understand that sometimes issue might happen in life that could have negative impact on your academic performance; don't be afraid of explaining the reasons for your undesirable grades if you have any. Just accept and follow their advice. #DAT

When skimming the passage in reading comprehension section of the #DAT, notice the title, the first sentence of each paragraph and look at the questions. You will find out the concepts and topics of the passage and also you will understand what you should be looking for.

Two items are the most important for reading comprehension section of the #DAT; time management on the exam and practice. Practice will help you in being successful in time management and you will become familiar with different passage types and different types of vocabulary.

ADA recently announced in an update that Prometric will re-instate rescheduling fees for the #DAT on August 3, 2020. Prometric has enabled thousands of additional appointments at testing centers in markets in the U.S. and Canada, and continues to add more.

If you don't make the grades or have bad hand skills during your #dentalschool, you may graduate later than 4 years. Most schools can work with low grades during dental school, but if you don't have the hand skills you can't be in clinic since you don't have control of the drill.

The results of your practice test scores can vary in range depending on what questions you get on that specific test, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t score as high as you wish you did on a certain exam. #DAT

Here is our latest update on the #DAT study guide which you can find in the following link: bohrprep.com/study-guide-fo…

The scope of the material covered in DAT biology is so randomly big, so the material covered on the exam is very random. You should try to become familiar with as many question types as you can for this section.

A general strategy for time management on the #DAT is mastering the concepts through study and practicing enough to learn as many different types of questions as you can. For a section like PAT you need a lot of practice before the exam so you can do that section fast as possible

In the Survey of the Natural Sciences part of the #DAT, you have the option to toggle between Biology, Chemistry and Organic Chem questions. You can start with the subject that you are most comfortable with so you can boost your confidence and save time for challenging sections.

Dental schools like UCLA , Harvard and University of Pittsburgh have adjusted their 2020-2021 Application Cycle due to Covid-19 situation by making the DAT optional for this cycle or other measures to make the DAT less of a factor. Do you know other schools which have done so?

While professional experience and shadowing are positive points for an applicant, but they do not compensate for low #GPA or #DAT score, this is a separate factor just like the interview which is another separate factor in your admission to dental school.

If a candidate arrives late for the #DAT and cannot be seated, the candidate will forfeit their examination fee and must submit a new application and fee for a new testing appointment.

Candidates who show up late for the DAT in their Prometric center might not be allowed to take the examination, depending on the time of their arrival and the scheduling of other testing appointments. #DAT

Changes and corrections to the application for the #DAT (name, birth-date, etc.) must be completed at least 2 weeks prior to a scheduled testing appointment. Candidates are responsible for identifying any corrections and must notify the testing program at dentpin@ada.org

If the name on a candidate’s application for the #DAT fails to EXACTLY match the name appearing on IDs brought to their Prometric test center, the candidate will NOT be permitted to test. As a result, the testing appointment and application fee will be forfeited.

Fee waivers for the #DAT are granted on a first-come, first-served basis at the beginning of each calendar year to eligible candidates who have submitted the required documents. Fee waivers will be granted beginning on January 1.

A limited number of partial fee waivers are available per year to #DAT candidates, in cases of severe financial hardship. The waiver covers 50% of the DAT fee, which includes the fee for the test and any official score reports requested at the time of application.

Applicants are required to take all four sections of the #DAT. The lowest possible scale score is reported for any assigned test not taken. Individuals unable to complete the DAT must submit a new application and fee to retest.
