To add to this, T8 is clearly elevated above other placements with a +120 CP jump. Having the “play in” cut round go into T16 instead of T8 doesn’t feel appropriate & doesn’t reward the 11-0 in Swiss appropriately either imo. Swiss +2 is time neutral & better reflects performance

I think this is about TCG - for VGC the main feedback I've seen is that players might prefer Swiss +2 before top cut rather than Swiss +1. This rewards players who do well in Swiss more (Louisville 11-0 lost in T16, 12-1 record. This is better than the t4 finishers with 12-3)

This weekend, I became the first ever Louisville Regional Champion and achieved a dream I've had since I started playing VGC. I'm incredibly happy with the result and my play, especially after starting 2-2 and being on the brink of elimination throughout most of the tournament.

Yeah x+1 turns into a 20+ person top cut which devalues Swiss and adds a lot of variance, because top cut rounds are frankly a crapshoot X+2 still removes the top cut bubble, but also means everyone in top cut cashes, has less overall variance, and takes the same amount of time

Hey @playpokemon @GamingGen there was roughly ~70 slots that went unused for Baltimore because of your new no refund policy. I’m sure people who had to cancel would’ve loved to be able to get their money back and many competitors would’ve loved to have the opportunity to play.

I wanted to attend Louisville, but was not sure the logistics would line up. I registered because it would otherwise sell out, but now know that I cannot attend. I would love to refund my registration — I feel awful that I am gatekeeping a seat.
