In a new study, @biobriedis and co-authors monitored haemosporidian parasitism in a Latvian starling population over 4 breeding seasons. For results, click here: doi.org/10.1002/wlb3.0….

Common Whitethroat is one the most numerous Afro-Palearctic migrant, yet our knowledge of the species' migration ecology remains limited. By combining ring-recovery analyses with geolocator tracking, @biobriedis et al. describe migrations routes and more link.springer.com/article/10.100…

If, like me, you find it fascinating that small migratory birds reach altitudes of 5,000 or 6,000m when crossing ecological barriers, check out our new preprint. We equipped 16 nocturnal migratory species with multi-sensor loggers to study their migration: tinyurl.com/2xs7nvaz

So excited to be a part of #HiRAD: a new project creating a standardised aerial biodiversity monitoring system using radars! The project, led by @silke_bauer, kicked off last week in Belgium! With this we will be able to monitor insect and bird movements right across Europe!!

🐦 Happy #WorldMigratoryBirdDay! This year, focus on — insects! 🦋🐜🦗 Migratory birds rely heavily on them for energy during their journeys. But habitat loss, light pollution, and pesticides are causing populations to decline, putting birds at risk. No Bugs, No Birds! 1/3
