Timelapse flying by Hurricane Milton about 2 hours ago. 1/6400 sec exposure, 14mm, ISO 500, 0.5 sec interval, 30fps
We are going home to Earth soon. I am excited to be with my family and friends again. But I am sure going to miss popping into the Cupola to take images of what Earth has to show us each day. Sharing some raw video/audio in an attempt to share a bit of what it is like to watch…
Timelapse of the moon setting into streams of red and green aurora followed by a sunrise lighting up Soyuz with a light blue. The aurora have been amazing the past few days. Great timing for trying out a new lens that recently arrived on Cygnus. 15mm, T1.8, 1/3s exposure,…
Green lights from fishing boats in Southeast Asia, city lights, a sun about to rise, and a single lightning strike in the left part of the frame that looks like a nebula. Camera setup on intervalometer to try and capture lighting. Found this image late in a sequence of about a…
Trying a different way to clean my retainer in space . . .
We flew right over the top of Hurricane Beryl today. Peering down into the eye with the 50 to 500 mm lens gave me both an eerie feeling and a high level of weather nerd excitement. Whole Hurricane: 50mm, f9, ISO 1000, 1/32000 Eye: 210mm (50 to 500m lens), f13, ISO 1000, 1/26000
An out of frame moon creates a lens flare and illuminates the Dragon perched atop the International Space Station. Photo taken looking out Starliner’s window. 1/1.3 s exposure, 2000 ISO, f1.4, 24mm lens
We are excited to go outside the space station in a few weeks. We are preparing now by setting up our tools, working on our spacesuits, and studying procedures and contingencies.
The Expedition 71 crew members are getting ready for spacewalks in the coming weeks. This week they tailored their spacesuits to fit just right for when they go outside the @Space_Station for maintenance and science work.
