Blocked by my local councillor for expressing misgivings about the schedule for collecting discarded Christmas trees. Wasn’t abusive, just sceptical.

We're sad to share the news that Full Fat are to close both of their cafés in #Balham & Brixton, with the final day of trading being Sat 23rd Dec. Owner Wilf & the team have kept the people of Balham in bacon & egg (and more!), for many years - initially through their 1/2
Kanji, the new Korean/Japanese restaurant on Hildreth St, is excellent.
Disappointed by the closure of Daisy in Clapham South. Surprised, too, as the place was generally busy and rammed at weekends. Trading conditions for restaurants are tough, but this one is a head-scratcher.
Has @cocodemeruk closed or moved? Hoping not the former. But if so, indicative of v difficult retail climate.
Tried Paula’s, the newish Colombian cafe on Ramsden Rd, this morning. Very different, tasty and filling breakfast, and amazing Pan de Queso. Friendly people. Fair prices.
Am beginning to wonder if @wandbc deliberately botched its Christmas tree collection this year, to justify stopping the service in future.
Another valiant attempt to redress the local shortage of places serving coffee.
Coming soon to #Balham! Panda’s Coffee House, an oriental-themed coffee bar & café is to open at 84 Balham High Rd, in the premises formerly occupied by Riders Bar. Owned by a local family and former local Optician. Panda’s Coffee House expects to open by the end of January.
Good news. Spotted a pile of about 50 trees on east side of Nightingale Sq today - an obstruction. Been accumulating for over a fortnight. They’ve not been left in the “correct” place, but trees left correctly weren’t collected or were added to the pile of incorrectly left ones.
