Dear Artist, It’s not up to you to determine how high your work ascends. The people determine the value and worth of your work. You’re in the output business. Never the outcome. If it’s solid, eventually the world will find you. Your tribe will find you. Stay true to yourself.
Consider if you’re feeling stuck in your writing to take a pause and: do an extended self-study on your work the past six months. Look for patterns, growth, what you stopped obsessing over, etc. Sometimes clarity can be gleaned in slowing down enough to notice.
The hack for writing well is reading and there’s no way around it. The more you read, the more you will be able to expand your mind to write.
Art continues to save me. Artists are necessary.
