At Al-Shifa hospital #Gaza: We have around 600 inpatients We have around 37 premature babies We have around 17 patients in the ICU We have around 600 postoperative patients They all need medical care. We need an immediate ceasefire.

Today, I am thinking of human beings in Gaza buried under the rubble. I am thinking of their joys, dreams, hopes & fears. I wonder, if the dust ever settles, whether opponents of a ceasefire will look back and reflect on the cost of their inhumanity. We need a ceasefire, now.
Can you imagine if we didn't have social media, we would have never known what was happening? Think then, how many times in the past history has been re-written the way it is happening right now before our very eyes.
THIS IS NOT TEMPORARY. The last cable connecting Gaza to the world has been destroyed!! WE WILL NOT HEAR FROM PEOPLE IN GAZA AGAIN UNTIL THE GENOCIDE ENDS. If we don't make it stop WE WON'T HEAR FROM MOST OF THEM EVER AGAIN.
And they'll make museums about it, people will write their thesis dissertations on Palestine, there will be entire departments dedicated to "posT-colonial studies" or "Apartheid in the 21st century" and suffering will be cited in Human Rights classes. For shame. For shame. shame.
We are deeply concerned about the situation in Gaza. We have lost contact with some of our Palestinian colleagues on the ground. We are particularly worried for the patients, medical staff and thousands of families taking shelter at Al Shifa hospital and other health facilities.
The red line is when Republicans ended the national assault weapons ban.
One day, when it's safe, when there's no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it's too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.
