For people who claim to completely support the Constitution, I am completely surprised by their lack of knowledge of what it actually says.
Shouting into the void: Saying the words Jesus is King does not prove you’re a Christian (as in a follower of Jesus Christ).
They have exchanged the truth for a lie, and they’ve done it for worldly political power.
Voted yesterday. Didn’t take a long time, but for early voting, was a pretty big line in my area. Usually in early afternoon, can walk right in to the place.
In the ladies bible group study I’m currently in, instructor said something I found very profound about the Bible: Said we can see it as a rule book or we can see it as a love letter from God. That to me, says a lot about the divide in the American church.
When it comes to the Bible, sometimes I feel like I’m reading a very different book than others do.
If our Christianity is somehow offended by the idea of everyone having food, shelter, drinkable water, and a livable wage, not only does this paint a deeply uncaring picture of our faith, but it also reveals that capitalism informs our beliefs more than the gospel of Jesus.
Why is it that “retard” - a word I learnt not to call other people before I was in kindergarten - has become the Christian right’s favorite insult to others? The Jesus I follow & serve would not be pleased with that. (Hint: He’s the one actually described in the Bible)
Water/Flooding is, I think, the most destructive element. Most of us don’t often think about how powerful it is until a flooding disaster happens. Travels fast & has a lot of psi.
Every time I see a post saying But they should just come here legally!! It tells me that person knows nothing about how our immigration systems work.
Why do so many people prefer to believe ignorant lies than find out the truth of a given situation? Gotta get off this train wreck for a while.
There is one thing I’ve noticed common to the majority of Trump supporters - Fear. Fear of others & fear of change. One of the major themes throughout Scripture is Do not Fear.
