Met health visitor to fill in forms to see if son might have the family magic 🪄. She explained that autism is a spectrum and we are all on it, plus I will be more sensitive to him acting up due to my dx, and may be encouraging his attention seeking behaviour #ActuallyAutistic

I’m thinking about considering that Autism is also a place. So when someone asks…. “Why do you always wear the same thing?” Or “Why do you talk like that?” I can say “Oh we do that where I come from”. #Autistic

Got up at 5am to catch a train to London. Commuted through the city to the office to go to a meeting. 2 intense hours with client. More public transport back to the station. 2 hour+ train journey, then drive home. Bone achingly tired. Thank goodness for 🎧 #ActuallyAutistic
Absolutely ❤️ Thumbsucker by @_MissingTheMark as late dx former thumbsucker. Got actual pangs of woe re so many similarities. Constant napping, saying awkward things at school, unruly hair. Almost identical experiences. So much comfort from knowing there folks like me out there.

We over value independence in society. We all thrive through connection and co regulation and having safe people around us is not a sign of weakness but strength to be able to connect and be our true selves with trustworthy people. 1/
hard relate as always @_MissingTheMark I missed my parents so much when I was away from them. My (also autistic) sister and I called it the “assembly feeling” when one of them came to school for some reason and we desperately wanted to go with them. Still makes my heart sink now
