No. Same reasoning was what cost two minors' lives just because another minor was not "checked"! As a parent you're not only responsible for the safety of your children but the consequences of their irresponsible behaviour/actions become your "gift" as well!

A Nigerian podcast pundit has made some interesting points on parenting in Africa and how it retards growth and risk taking among the youth. He asserted that “Often, parents become dream killers, if you don’t become disobedient to find your path, you become stagnant”

actually, when you listen to Ghanaian elders have conversations, they do cite a lot. they even cite proverbs — from where they first heard it. i love it. we need our own citation system.
