Parents only care about their child’s education when their kid has an F. I get more emails when there’s F’s sitting in the gradebook then any other time. I can call all day every day about the kids behavior, but no response until an F shows up. Parents want no Fs and give no Fs.
I go to target for toothpaste and accidentally get bread, toilet paper, pillows, a shirt, Pyrex, and deodorant. But when things are locked up, guess what I’m leaving with $5 toothpaste. These stores are fucking themselves over, but I agree the ultimate goal is drive thru shopping
You wanna know what my conspiracy theory is? You know how every store seems to be locking away products? The end result is going to be everything locked away in an Amazon-like warehouse and the shopping experience is going to be like a human drive-thru.

The students this year a fresh hell. Like they have decided they hate me and my class. And it’s a first for me. This fucking hurts. I can’t make a connection with the interested students because im so busy putting out fires started by the disrupters.

Exactly this. Unfortunately we need to go back to tracking. How did we get to this point where we just randomly clump students and expect 1 adult to run 3 different rooms in one? It’s the most fucking insane thing about teaching.
“Teachers need more training to differentiate properly.” No, chasing the differentiation dragon is a logistical problem, not a training problem. It is demanding the impossible to expect teachers to teach remedial skills and grade level skills and advanced skills all at once.
I’m over the push for an edutainer. The idea that the teacher must entertain children to get them to engage is bullshit. Anyone who has been in a classroom knows this. We have ruined whole generations of kids who can’t go 30 sec without a dopamine hit.
