I have come to the conclusion that there is no “answer” to theodicy. Theologically, the only way to make sense of suffering is eschatology. The American writer William Faulkner is right. As he puts it, “What’s wrong with this world is, it’s not finished yet.”

thank you, @Jonathan_Black_!

Book 80. I think this concise yet pastoral book will be a help and blessing to many. Structured around some simple children’s prayers, @arwphd clears away a number of common missteps and confusions to go back to the much richer theological depths implicit in that childlike faith.

‘If I were to define what for me makes up the core Pentecostal identity, it is the lived conviction that everything, absolutely everything, in the scriptures is livable. Not just true, but livable. Not just an idea or a cause, but livable in real life.’ —Eugene Peterson

When you don't know that Pentecostals and Wesleyans exist, your church history looks a little funny

67% of the world's Christians live in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania, compared to 11% who live in America and Canada. Much of our problem with "the church" is from our vantage point of the church in America. Our pain is real, but our perspective needs to be bigger.
