The Washington Post, Observer and Telegraph all face uncertain futures - just at the time they’re most needed. My column on newspapers as more than balance sheets prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/68…

This begs the question of what the UK then does if the rise of figures like Gabbard and Gaetz leads to a collapse of the Transatlantic alliance. In their inability to imagine a post-American future, many in London have much in common with disoriented colleagues in Berlin

It’s November 2024 and I am listening for the first time ever to BBCs ‚Today‘ talking about the damage Brexit has done to Britain. I mean, it has just been 8 years..

Germany, France, Belgium and the EU should release the $300 billion in frozen Russian assets and give it to Ukraine, now.

What is going on? We speak about it now?

Now being reported by the BBC. ‘There have been consequences to #brexit that particularly impacted goods and trade and Britain must be alert to and welcome opportunities to rebuild relations with the EU.’ #bbcqt #newsnight

Trump's former National Security Advisor.👇🏽~AA

Gaetz must be the worst nomination for a cabinet position in American history. This is something that falls well outside the proper scope of deference to a President nominating members of his senior team.  Gaetz is not only totally incompetent for this job, he doesn't have…

So - just to underline - the proposed director of national intelligence for the US, Tulsi Gabbard, is so pro-Putin that she has been described as a Russian agent on Russian TV.

In Russian state television, the debate is whether Tulsi Gabbard should be referred to as "our agent" or as "girlfriend."

Meanwhile on Russian state TV: Another translated clip of Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard, introduced by state TV host Vladimir Soloviev as "Our girlfriend Tulsi." After the clip plays, one panelist asks: "Is she some sort of a Russian agent?" The host quickly replies: "Yes."

Nobody should have any illusions now

When you thought this evening news couldn't be topped..

Hope it's wrong, but I'm hearing through the grapevine about this bonkers plan: Trump would adjourn both Houses of Congress under Article II, section 3, and then recess-appoint his Cabinet.

What is appalling is a politician who enthusiastically defunded the criminal justice system - deliberately increasing record court backlogs and causing delays in rape trials of 5 years - thinking he has anything of value to contribute.

This is appalling. How can Starmer’s Britain lecture other countries about free speech when an innocent journalist gets a knock on the door - for a tweet? Our police have their hands full of burglaries and violent crime. They are being forced to behave like a woke Securitate -…

Appointing as DNI someone widely believed to be somehow compromised by #Russia is... quite a move. U.S. allies in #Europe will have *serious* questions about intel sharing if Tulsi clears Senate approval. No joke.

Good God. Alarm bells. Tulsi Gabbard has been appointed Director of National Intelligence. She's trumpeted #Putin's talking points for years & traveled to #Syria to meet #Assad, who she believes is a victim.

Demanding Senate Republicans back Gaetz as attorney general and Hegseth as Defense Secretary is the 2024 version of forcing Sean Spicer to say it was the largest inauguration crowd ever. These aren't just appointments. They're loyalty tests. The absurdity is the point.

The woman Trump has appointed as the new 🇺🇸 Director of National Intelligence. Can we assume that as of 20 January the United States' position is that NATO provoked Russia's invasion of Ukraine?
