One of my favourite high-impact strategies in math, is small-group instruction. This targeted practice allows me to address misconceptions in the moment and close gaps. You immediately see the 💡 turn on. @knowledgehook is key to helping identify and close those gaps. #dpmath

Great discussion for our minds on, in grade 3/4 @olf_dpcdsb today. So important for our learners to see, notice, and solve equations where the unknown is in different places. #dpmath

Started the day with a diagnostic in assessment mode on multiplication, using Knowledgehook today. 20 minutes later and we have a clear focus on what we need to start with. #dpmath

Started our day with the DP Jr problem of the week. Slam dunk in @mrsladner1420’s class. Way to go grades 5 and 6 rockstars! #dpmath

We used a DP problem of the week from Marian Small’s, Open Questions to kick start our math in grade 3/4 today. Lots of great suggestions! #dpmath

We used this great question from @openmiddle for a patterning warm up in grade 5/6 today. Five minutes later, we had 4 different solutions. 💡 #dpmath

Extending growing and shrinking patterns in grade 3 with @PearsonMatholo1 was the perfect opportunity to introduce some of the features of @brainingcamp to our young learners. #dpmath

The action task in grade 6 today involved creating a growing pattern, translating the pattern to a table of values, and a graph, and figuring out what the 100th term would be. Mission accomplished and engagement was high with some help from @brainingcamp #dpmath

There’s such useful data in the reports section of @knowledgehook I’m starting a new short-term learning cycle and can clearly see the areas of focus for small group intervention. #dpmath

Sharing ideas, strategies, resources, and tasks together with colleagues has always been such a valuable part of teaching for me. Blessed today with the opportunity to do some co-planning with my teaching partners @AnthonyBrampton

Using @brainingcamp to help us create a picture and model of how 4 children can share 3 packs of stickers. We then were able to name each child’s share as a decimal. @StJoeBramDPCDSB #dpmath
