I was just thinking of this song. Sorry I missed this 50 year anniversary. But “Lean On Me” is always timely. Especially now.

Just let yourself imagine - How different would the world be if the mainstream mass media (among others) devoted just 10% of coverage time they devote to #DonaldTrump to social issues eg #equity #healthliteracy #environmentalsustainability #racism #genderbias #agebias & many more

The idea of simplification running through #healthliteracy is far to often misunderstood as a mandate to remove any & all possible complexity versus the more productive & challenging task of using language, design, etc to explain complexity in understandable & useful ways. Imo.

… and now we have “Widespread Outbreaks of Hepatitis A in US” according to #cdcgov which only seems capable of lowering preventative guidelines for communicable disease.

Further, documentation that does exist is widely scattered across a very diverse range of sources. How about we do a better job this time around???

It is a bit surprising how little documentation exists on who in the U.S, did or did not receive full polio vaccination. The assumption seems to be if you were enrolled in school you were vaccinated. I’ve known people for whom that isn’t true.

A scientist in the public eye has taken her own life. This has to be a wake-up call - The Guardian Have to ask - are the mew COVID guidelines simply the ⁦@CDCgov⁩ bowing to public pressure? Feels like that to me. apple.news/Ao5Nm_SHXR2O0a…

1. I will never visit Indiana again. 2. I will drive and fly around - not through - the state w/pleasure. 3. I will never buy anything from a business based in Indiana. 4. I will never purchase anything manufactured in Indiana or made anywhere from a company based in the state.

Indiana passed a near-total abortion ban yesterday. By the time a woman realizes she's pregnant, she will effectively be prohibited from having access to reproductive health care. This is an absolutely shameful decision made by the Indiana legislature and governor.

… and of course we can’t forget the so-called evidence-based solutions that are marketed better than the “solution” actually works.

More research is always good, agree. We must also imo call for far greater, effective, equitable, and efficient use of existing research-based best practices. Oh my, someone could do more and better research on this long-standing problem imo.
