Traditional vs a more compliant load carriage system? What is better? 🥾 Read the publication from Anders, Matthew Klavs, @amelie_w58 and Hannah to find out: tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

Very interesting study on exercisers and super shoes from NIH! @nih_physicperf #supershoes

👟We compared technologically advanced running shoes to classical running shoes in recreational female and male runners 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 💡We found that when running in advanced running shoes participants had lower: - oxygen cost - cumulative tibial loading per kilometer (OA link below)

topic "energy" at #Forskningsdagene (🇳🇴research days) was well timed with the recent women's marathon WR by Tigst Assefa: @HMRice1 and I wrote about the new shoe technology and "energy", including some preliminary findings from our recent study

New research further supports claims that “Supershoes” can reduce your metabolic energy cost when running. Researchers at NIH answer your questions about modern running shoes. #supershoes #running #carbonshoes nih.no/en/about/news/…

Great to see that the @HumboldtUni Autumn School on Movement Science continues🥳 I can highly recommend it for Master and PhD students as well as postdocs and anyone interested in locomotion, movement control and muscle-tendon behaviour! spowi.hu-berlin.de/de/bsms/autumn…

📰New article out @HMRice1 @OlivierSeynnes & @amelie_w58 Increased demands of running (⬆️speed or weight carriage) = ⬆️ peak tibial loading and cumulative tibial loading per kilometer. This may increase the risk of tibial stress injury. Read more: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/sm…

This was a fun one to write with @cclemente4 and some fantastic reviewers. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to @J_Exp_Biol 100 years! @UQMedicine @usceduau

In their #JEB100 Review, @cclemente4 & @TaylorJMDick remind us how body size affects animal shape, energy use, movement and ecology before discussing how scaling can explain how physical limits and evolutionary history can determine form and function journals.biologists.com/jeb/article/22…
